A prayer service for Murtis Matthews Klootwyk will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2013, in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas, Louisiana.
Chaplain Patrick Braquet will conduct the prayer service. Burial will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Klootwyk, age 77, a resident of Opelousas, Louisiana; died on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at the Heritage Manor Nursing Home.

Survivors include her children, Lona Lasseret of Opelousas, Louisiana; Paul Sundergelt and wife, Valerie, of Vancouver, Washington; Mona Lisa Martinez and husband, Henry, of Poydras, Louisiana; Zane Bryant and wife, Sharon, of Carrier, Mississippi; her twin brother, Curtis Matthews and wife, Eula, of Carriere, Mississippi and her sister, Nevest Coulon of Melville, Louisiana and Mary "Emma" Moser of Mandeville, Louisiana. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and a hose of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cornelius Klootwyk and her parents, Clarence and Dometile Tuner Matthews.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas beginning on Friday, April 5, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
