18-06-1978 Emma Klootwyk, Former Monroe Resident, Dies
MONROE - Mrs. Cornie (Emma) Klootwyk, 92, of Pella, a former resident of Monroe, died Sunday evening at the Tower Park Nursing Home in Oskaloosa.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home in Pella.
The Rev. Richard A. De Jong, associate pastor of the First reformed Church in Pella, will handle arrangements. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery near Pella.
Survivors are three sons, Ernest of West Des Moines, Raymond of Pella and Harold of Des Moines; a daughter, Mrs. Henry (Dorothy) Vander Horst of Pella; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gerrit De Gues, Sept. 5, 1926 and her second husband, Cornie Klootwyk, Aug. 26, 1963.
The daughter of Gerrit and Julie Morgel Uitermarkt, she was born Oct. 19, 1885 in Mahaska County.
